What Kind of A Bagel Am I?

28 Sep

I saw this blogthing during my blog hopping and it made me real hungry! Anyways, I am about to sleep because I have to go to the office tomorrow. I have to leave the house by eight AM. Pretty early huh!

Before I finally say goodnight, I took this quiz and the result is inspiring!

You Are a Whole Wheat Bagel

You are confident, hard-working, and successful.

You are status conscious and a bit of a perfectionist.

Of all the types, you’re the most likely to be quite particular about what you eat.

You tend to make yourself a very healthy breakfast. You would never reach for a donut!

What Kind of Bagel Are You?

A whole wheat bagel? Eating healthy? Ha,ha,ha! Then, I should not be 170lbs right now, huh! I know all the right things about food and good diet…it is just that I do not follow it, LOL!

About being a perfectionist… I like perfection but then again… I am easily contented or should I say, very easy to please. Sometimes, I am a bit OC.

I would never reach for a donut? Well, I prefer fried rice, sunny side egg and corned beef!

Okay, I am really getting hungry… I will grab a grape juice then finally bid good night…

Being fat can make you fatter

27 Sep

I had to drop by Mercury Drug, the most popular drug store here in the Philippines, on my way home. Well, I had to buy Ventoline nebules again for my son. Whew! It already costs P34/nebule! It was only P25-28 before! My husband did not want to try the one being sold at the generic drug store because of the latest China products’ scare.

What I like about the drug store is its TV monitor showing some health tips and advises. Since the line was long, I just had to keep myself busy watching those slides. I learned many things in my 15-20 minutes wait. Do you know that being fat can make you fatter? Ouch on me! Honestly, I think I do not overeat and my consumption before was the same. It is just that, there was a time that I really pigged out and the result was an added 50 lbs on my weight. It started five years ago when I got pregnant. According to the source of the slide, which is Survival of the Fittest, if your weight becomes 60% greater than your ideal weight, fat cells are being stored and your body tends to produce more fat cells. Are you computing right now? In addition to that, when we get older, the metabolism decreases. We also tend to have less activity or do not have the drive to do some exercise.

Gentlemen, gentlewomen

23 Sep

I am glad to be home safe and sound after almost an hour of travel from office to here. Well it was raining hard a while ago and traffic was expected. I was on a morning shift and I had to go with the rush hour. When the clock struck 6 o’clock, I swiped my company ID and out I went off the road.

It did not take long for me to get a ride. After the first stop, the jeepney for my last ride seemed just waiting for me. Oh, well, I thought I was lucky. As I was a bout to sit, not even a palm size of my gluteals fitted on the supposed to be 8-9 persons capacity for each row of the jeepney. I just hold on tight to the upper bars so that I would not fall down. Some of the passengers were already looking at me as if telling me I should get down and wait for another ride. Oh, no! I wanted to reach home immediately and rest. The lady at the opposite side had a heart and volunteered to exchange places with me so that I could sit comfortably. Her hips were smaller compared to mine. Besides, they were only eight at their side. She fitted well to that tiny space left and all of my gluteus max already touched the surface of the jeepney’s seat. In only about a few minutes, some passengers alighted already and the girl who gave her seat to me was also able to sit comfortably. What a gentle lady, huh!

The lady’s gesture made me think… There were men inside that jeep also. Well, I did not expect any gentleman these days. I think it is not an obligation. After all, women are fighting now for equal rights. Maybe, that also goes for even small things like that. Everyone deserves to have a seat that he pays for.

I remember one incident in an MRT ride. My husband and I were already seated when a couple came in. My husband offered his seat to the woman. When there was already a space, instead of my husband to be able to take it, the woman called her husband to rush to it. Oh, well…

Mom and Child Talk: I want a pet animal

22 Sep

My child was chasing the stray cat and told me that he wanted to make it his pet animal. Before, my son did not like cats but when they tackled animals in schools and they were asked to draw the pet that they wanted to have or the pet that they already own, he changed his mind. Now, he wants to have a pet.

Yesterday, when I got home from the office, I saw this little chick painted in fuchsia pink! My son proudly said, “Look, Mommy, I have a pet animal!” Poor chick. It was crying maybe looking for its mother hen? My hubby bought the chick for P10. He said that our kid was bugging him of a pet animal. Oh, by the way, that is the term that my son uses because he learned in school about the classification of animals as farm animals, wild animals, kind animals and pet animals. LOL!

My son is now busy taking care of the chick. He feeds it and let it drink. I just wonder how long it will last. I do not want to see the chick lost its life inside our house.

note: the picture was not mine…got it from google…the mobile phone’s USB is not working. it looks the same as the one that my son has though. :)

Keeping in touch with friends

20 Sep

I am not really good in keeping in touch with friends. Sometimes, I am asking myself, do I have any friend left at all? With the advent of modernized communication like friendster, facebook and other forms like e-mail, chat, YM, IM, SMS, MMS and blogging, I must admit, I have not been utilizing much of those in communicating with my friends.

Today, I tried to check my friendster account and instead of accepting the friend requests, I accidentally cancelled them all! Oh, forgive me. Please do not be mad. I do not even know now how to invite them or search/view my friends’ accounts. Facebook is the in thing nowadays but I have not visited that site even once. There is also myspace, right?

I have to be connected with my friends again. I have to keep them. I think giving them an hour or two in a week would be enough, right? For my first step, I send them e-mails today. I am talking about my friends who are already abroad. They are really my best buddies. I really miss them.

My friends here in the Philippines, I only have a few. Yes, I must start keeping in touch with them also. Good thing some of them are my co- workers.

If only they will find time to read this blog also… Ah, right, I will just make a widget here dedicated to them. I think that will be a great idea. In that way, I will always remember them.

Wipe you off your shoes

13 Sep

Ah…nice title is it not? Well, I really could not think of a good title for this post…

In the Philippines , do not be surprised when a kid would get up on the jeepney and wipe the shoes of the passengers. After that, he or she will ask for money. Painful, is it not? It melts my heart to see those children. I wonder where their parents are. I also cannot imagine if my own child would be in that situation. The street children issue had never been resolved and I do not know what the Philippine government is doing about it. However, do not blame it all to them? It would be really a long debate regarding poverty, family planning and good governance.

That is why since I gave birth, I have been very careful with my life. It will never give me peace if my child will be at that cold street.

Wrong spelling wrong!

10 Sep

I received an e-mail saying that my post was disapproved
( for my other blog) because it has many grammatical errors! Funny, huh! Well, my friend has been warning me every time to proof read what I am writing. Honestly, I do not do that all the time. I just depend on the spelling and grammar-checking tool provided by word. Now, I know. Well, we always learn things the hard way, don’t we? From now on, I would double check and go through my entry first before finally submitting it.

Wrong spelling wrong! shame on you

Sleeping while commuting

09 Sep

I slept the whole time while riding on the jeepney on my way home last night. It rained cats and dogs again and that meant traffic. My usual travel time of 30-45 minutes was extended to one hour and thirty minutes! I did not notice though until the driver shouted the name of our place and I woke up.Lol! It had been a long ride, huh! Finally, I reached home. I felt so tired. After eating some chicken noodles, I washed up, changed clothes and finally retired. Real tiring!
