Saved by the shoe!

January 9th, 2009

Whoa! It has been a long day. I attended my god’s daughter Christening. I woke up around 6Am and started doing the laundry. Yeah, started only because I have not finished it until as of this writing. Anyways, I was excited and I prepared two sets of outfits. The more formal one and the casual one. After some thinking and exchanges, I preferred the casula one. Black maong pants and white top. I feel more comfortable than wearing the one that is nicer to look at. Anyways, I still wore the shoes that I planned to wear. This pair had been inside the shoe cabinet for quite some time already. I think it had been a year? It needed some repair and I asked my husband to check it for me.

I arrived at the church on time, around 1215PM as requested by my friend. It was A OK until after the baptismal ceremony. When we reached the reception for lunch, I noticed that the strap of the right shoe seemed loosen up. Oh,no! That would be a big embarrassment!I panicked! Fast thinking to go to the nearby department store which is four minutes away from the venue. I grabbed my friend to accompany me. Good thing some of the guests took a cab and we took the one they alighted from and rushed to buy new shoes. Well, I almost opened the envelope for my god daughter if I did not find a pair of shoes on sale! LOL!

We just walked our way back and the party had not started. We were sweating because it was mid noon. Some of our friends asked where we had been. I did not tell them until our way back home.

Yes, guys, my shoes gave in! I needed to buy a new one. My husband said that I am too heavy for that kind of design already. Okay, I have learned my lesson. Always go for comfort and not style. Buy ones that are durable enough. Cheaper ones would compromise quality.

But then again, this new pair? I think it is of quality. It is just affordable because it is out of style?
