Mom, I want to be a bus driver

23 Feb

When you ask a kid what he wants to be when he grows up, he would say he wants to be a doctor. A little girl would like to be a nurse. Well, my own child, do you know what he wants to be in the future? He would like to become an air-con bus driver. I asked him why and he said that because it is cold inside the bus! Funny, is it not? Well, I would make sure that he gets lunettes protection if ever.

You should ask your children about that. Well, it is not that I do not want my son to become a bus driver, huh! It is a noble profession. Maybe, I would like him to just drive his own car though instead of a bus. Having so many people in his hands would be a big responsibility. He has to make sure that the commuters would be safe all the time until they alight from that bus.

If I have a daughter, I would be very glad to see her in those nursing uniforms. I prefer the white ones, though. Today, nursing uniforms are friendlier which come in different colors and designs. To become a nurse is another good profession. Serving others is always good. That is why it saddens me a bit because almost all nurses here in our country are not yet ready to have that commitment. What a waste! Many took nursing with the intention of going abroad. I do not blame them though. I, myself had that thought too.

I am getting serious here..Well, I must just search for some royalty free music to liven up my day.

P 0.50 fare rollback

23 Feb

Wow! Rollback! Jeepney fare would only be P7.00 from now on. I hope that the fare for shuttle service would be lowered too. The reason why I would just like to stay inside the house during my rest days is the very high fare. If we would go out, it would really mean spending some cash.

It is a great news for all the commuters. I wonder if bus fares and taxi fares would follow…

Vacation is over

23 Feb

I sort of had a vacation since Thursday. I was away from so many things. Well, I enjoyed the travel pri vilege that was promised to us if we agreed to work on a special project. I went to Cebu! I love riding the airplane. I experienced some ear discomfort though during the flight back to Manila but all in all, the trip was okay. We left for the airport at around 12PM last Thursday and arrived at Cebu at around 530PM. The scene at the airport? Well, nothing much. There was Senator Lacson though. We rode the 747 PAL plane. We stayed at Waterfront Hotel where Lacson also stayed. Dinner time, we ate at PORT seafood resto. Eat all you can for only 299.00! That is less than ten dollars worth of baked oyster, lechon, fruits and vegetables, favorite desserts an  that cozy ambiance. Come night time, we went to Ayala Center Cebu and had a drinking spree. Well, the rest of the group had Vodka while I contented myself with my favorite Zombie which tasted like four seasons juice. I think they forgot to add rum? Well, that was okay except that it has a very high price. Thank you to the one who paid the bill. I went to the ladies’ room and when I got back, we were off to go to another favorite hang- out of Cebuanos and Cebuanos. We went to Larsian. It is a place where you could eat all kinds of barbecue! It was very smoky there! We went back to our hotel room at around twelve AM! CINDERELLA! After a hot shower, we had to call it a night and prepare for the presentation the next morning.

Friday came, I woke up early. I went straight to the bathroom to take a bath again. I prepared all my things because we had to check out of the hotel already. We would be at the office until 6PM then go back to Manila at 8PM. Oh, I missed the Duty Free shop at the hotel. That is the problem when you are traveling without your friends. You could not do everything that you would like to do. I had to tag along all the way with my bosses.

Finally, we were headed home. I reached Makati thru our service van at around ten PM. Oh, I was afraid to take a cab. I sent text messages to my friends that I was already back. I decided to take the bus. It took 20 minutes before it left Ayala. After one hour, I was in Cubao and I had to look for the final ride. I was lucky to find a shuttle service.

1145PM, I was already home having a chat with my husband. Well, I missed him so much. My son was already sleeping.

Saturday came, still my rest day. I tried to take a peek at my blogs. But then again, I wanted to sleep. My son did not let me to and just watched the time until it was already 6PM. We went out  to the mall. The usual thing, window shopping and all. My son bought another little dino toy. My husband bought a card for our prepaid satellite subscription. Oh, there was the Penalosa fight that night. He had that instinct. Me? Well, I was as always at the shoe section. Yes, I got another pair! Well,  unplanned shopping?

We got home at around 9PM. By that time, I realized, vacation was over. I had to work on my assignments to replenish what we just spent. Electric bill has to be paid by the end of the month. Thank God , we do not have to worry about house rental anymore.

I slept at around 1AM after cleaning the refrigerator and doing blog back up as reminded by my landlady in the blogosphere.

Today, I came from work. And as you see, I am trying to write this post…

Oh, it is actually another day. My dreaded day of the week…Monday!

It is no classes for the students. Still work for the elderly… Good thing… my rest day! Well, I have lots of things to do. As I have said… vacation is over!

Manic Monday- Candy

16 Feb
One of the memes that I love is Manic Monday.
The theme for today is candy!
Oh, who does not love candy?
When we were kids, our parents  warned us not to accept candies from strangers. My innocent mind asked, why just candies? Do not accept anything from a stranger could be more appropriate, right?
Anyways, maybe because a candy is handy, it could be easily be given and accepted and swallowed?
As a commuter, I always have candies inside my bag or pocket. Well, you do not know how long any trip could be. Candy is versatile. It is not only a dessert but could actually be your temporary meal for the day until you reach home and have a decent one. In all our travels we always bring candies. It always serves its purpose. Candies could help you prevent ulcers.
My favorite candy? Those caramel and butter flavored ones! Yum,yum!

Worth more than a hundred carat of diamonds

15 Feb

It is my rest day today. I decided to stay home and watch lots of TV. I actually love watching talk shows. I was able to watch this Tough Ten Portion of the show , The Buzz. The guest was Gary Valenciano. The toughest question made the singer cried and put all his heart out. The question was;

If ever you would say sorry for the last time, to whom would you say sorry to?

He said that he would ask forgiveness from his wife for all his short comings. He said that for all those times that he turned his back and said not so good words and the way he said that, he is sorry. He said that he is alive right now because of his wife and he is what he is because of her. Wow, blurting all those high regards is worth more than a hundred carat of diamonds!

I cried with him. It was one of the honest interviews I had ever watched.

Gary, do you have a brother? Your wife is lucky to have you! May your tribe increase!

Easy to sell

15 Feb

zenniWhen a product is good, it is very easy to sell. Just like Zenni. Have you heard about Zenni Optical in the New York Times?! There is an article there entitled, ” Seeing Straight Without Breaking the Bank” and it mentioned about Zenni as the shop that sells affordable lenses. Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! Now, that is really something to consider since the thrust now is to save money as much as possible to prepare for the rainy days. There are times that we have to sacrifice things to do that. Well, not being able to see well must not be included.

Everyday love

15 Feb

How did you spend your Valentine’s day? For those who are just starting, I hope you are having a blast wherever you are and whatever you are doing right now.

I used to be on leave during Valentine’s Day. I really like to spend the whole day with my husband and kid. Yesterday was different. I went to work. My husband told me that we could go out after my shift. Our son was cooperative and agreed to be left at home with his Aunt and cousin. Was I expecting something big? Not really! A few moments alone with him would be enough. You know , just like when we were still just boyfriend and girlfriend. He would fetch me at the office then anything goes afterward.

Clock said 630PM. We agreed to just meet at my favorite mall. I rode the metro rail transit (MRT). Was I excited? In a sense, yes. Or maybe just the idea of having someone to be with thrilled me? Anyways, the MRT ride was about ten to fifteen minutes. I decided to send text messages for a Valentine Greeting.

Love is being with someone who you could not live without. It is like the heart that should stay in one piece for you to be able to live. Feel and give all the love you could give not just today but if possible with every tick of time.

I sent that to around twenty persons and not more than fifty percent responded. Maybe they were busy. But anyways, I just want to wish them all a Happy Heart’s Day.

Finally, I reached the mall. Hubs was not yet there. As usual , it was traffic or maybe he did not leave the house earlier. After around thirty minutes, there he came. He greeted me, ” Hello, Tabachinching!” Read: Hello, cute fat woman! Ouch! Where are my weight loss pills? :-) No, I was not hurt by the remark. I am used to it. Besides, I am not doing anything to loose these love handles.

We did plan to have dinner and maybe watch some movies or crash into a concert. However, all   were sold out and hotels were fully booked. We ended up strolling at the mall for more than an hour until we found this Italian resto. Eat all you can breadsticks for every order of pasta! We also had the specialty of the house, turtle cheesecake Yummy!

After dinner, we went home. The biggest surprise of all that made my heart melt was waiting there. My son stayed awake waiting for me. He gave me a heart stick with a dedication he wrote, “I love you Mommy!”

Love is really a wonderful feeling! I thank God for my husband and son who shower me with lots of it everyday!

I've got a new bag!

11 Feb

Wow! I’ve got a new bag! Well, I bought it yesterday after all the persuasive efforts of my good friends? It happened that one of our officemates sells bags as a source of extra income. She travels from time to time and shop for new items.

I usually buy bags once in a while but the price would not exceed P500. Yes, I am that thrifty? Not really, I just find it impractical. I am not really into fancy things. Maybe that is because of the demands of life.

Anyways, this is one of the times that I gave in to peer pressure? He,he,he…

I searched the internet for almost two hours just to find out if I had a good buy. Actually, I did not get the actual or exact item but it is only the color that is different.

bag

Here it is! I have the black one! I could say that I got a good buy because from the price stated at e-bay, I even got it at around the similar price range. Much more in installment basis! Yes, I would be paying for it, for 3 months, zero interest! Take into consideration also that the price stated at e-bay is the buy now price.

By the way, until now I have not told my husband how much my bag costs! Do not tell! Kidding aside, he already guessed it to be around P5K. Well, he bought a Ferragamo shoes before , stuck right now inside the shoe cabinet, he,he,he. Well, hubby has this fear about my being not so much into taking care of my bags. I am sure though that it would be the first and last time that I would buy something as expensive… for a brand name. Maybe, I will go for other brands next time… Lol!

Thanks to ebay.com for the photo.
