Mom and child talk: sleeping cabinet

31 Mar

Come to think of it, it has been a long time since I have written about my kid and I talking. Well, I have been busy the past two months and I came home tired that I just slept then woke up early again. I missed all those how was your day small talk with my kid.

Today is my rest day and I spent the whole day with my husband and kid. Hubby was busy painting our built in cabinet. Yesterday, my son was playing inside it and he said that he would like it to be his room. Yeah, it is quite big. His Dad said that he would just make him a bed, sort of like a second deck, above our bed. My son said, okay, make my cabinet where I could sleep. Huh? No, son, not a cabinet but a bed!

Save your home

29 Mar

First, let me congratulate everybody who participated at The Earth Hour. I was asleep during that time but I know that my husband turned off all the lights at exactly 830PM. I am sure that in our own little way, we contributed to saving some energy that is beneficial to our dearest planet earth.

There are still many other ways for us to make our environment a healthier place to live in. That is by the food we eat. They say that if you eat less red meat, it is better because you would not have to use more oxygen? That is because more carbon dioxide would come out of your body if you eat RED than WHITE.

Have you plant your own tree? When is your birthday? I think, if all the people in the world would have even one tree, then there would be a fresher air again!

How about you? Any more ideas?

Let us work hand in hand to save the Earth. After all, HERE is where we live.

More is less

29 Mar

More is less! Yes, contrary to the saying that less is more, I would like to say that more is less when it comes to buying. It means that when you buy more, you could pay less by getting a bigger discount. It is especially true when you buy at the depot or at factories or main store of your chosen product. In groceries, there are also items like soap, noodles, toothpaste, tissue paper and others that comes in packs and when you compute the price compare to those that are being sold per piece, you would know that it is lower. Even my son’s favorite yogurt could be bought in packs of six. Do you know that there are even wholesale electronics being sold now? One of the persons who would be happy to hear this is my husband. Not that he is going to buy 4HDTVs, huh! We are only three in the house. Anyways, I think that it would be a good business opportunity. Hey, all of us should think about earning extra aside from our regular jobs right?

Modified

28 Mar

My brother in law is very good with carpentry. As a matter of fact, he is constructing our built in cabinet right now. I am thinking if he could also make audio racks. I saw a design that is sure expensive if I would buy it ready made. When he is finished with his present task, I would tell him about it. Meantime, I would continue for my search for better designs. I want something that is a space saver because what we have right now is real bulky. Maybe he could just do some modifications.

I have to trim down

28 Mar

I will start my diet on Monday. I will not eat junk food anymore at the office. Moreover, I will choose fish over meat during office lunch breaks. Do you think that those resolutions would already make me lose some pounds or I have to take the best weight loss pill in town? One thing sure though, I really have to trim down. I went shopping yesterday and even 2X size would not fit me. Imagine that! It was as always depressing. Good thing I got this blouse I am wearing right now, sized 2X and 50% off! It was a real consolation. Moreover, hubby was the one who bought this for me.

Where is the early bird?

28 Mar

I almost did not sleep last night. I woke up from time to time. It was 2 AM. Then it was 3 AM and so on…I was actually waiting for 6 AM, time for me to get up. Finally, I heard the alarm clock and my husband also got up to inform me that it was time. Why I was that conscious? Well, I already have five lates for the month. I received the warning memo two days ago for my exceeding tardiness last December. I have not fully understood the policy yet as I recently read in the newly released revised code of discipline that all reprimands would be renewed/refreshed on the next calendar year. I do not know if I am free of that warning already or still bounded. Nevertheless, the best thing to do is to control my tardiness. Moreover, my previous supervisor who have known me to always be an early bird in the past who is again my supervisor right now approached me and asked what happened. I am quite ashamed, you know…

The computer has always been a temptation. I usually open it every morning and today is no exception. I had set a certain stop though. At 630AM , I had to take a bath. Anyways, I tried to blog hop and even left one comment. :)

I was praying not to be late for the sixth time as I left the house at 655AM. I really prayed hard. No traffic please.

I made it here, right now! I am at the computer room writing this. No traffic at all. It only took me around 50 minutes. I am even early. Thank God!

Time to go and work for the next nine hours!

Work,work,work,work,work!

Win win situation

27 Mar

Do you have an insurance? I do! Before getting one, I studied first all those term insurance quotes. You know, I had to know if I could really afford it and how would be the payment scheme. More importantly, I had to know the benefits and the general pros and cons of getting an insurance. another thing is the stability of the insurance company. After all, it is not a joke to put your money into something that you really do not know. Why gamble? Go and get an insurance only from reputable institutions. I got a pre need plan coupled with term insurance. It is a win win situation both for me and my loved ones.

Getting home late

27 Mar

I came home late again. Well, I attended the Thanksgiving Dinner treat of our Boss in the special project we had for the past two months. Who am I to miss that? I love free food! No wonder I am this big.:)

Anyways, I decided to take the shuttle that would bring me straight from Makati to Marikina. We finished eating at around 845PM so I could really catch that shuttle ride. I also had the option to ride the Metro train but I opted to wait for the Hi-Ace Van. I told my office mate that I think it would be worth the wait. As the dispatcher sounded, we would be riding a new van. But wait, he said that it would arrive after thirty minutes. It turned out that we had to wait for an hour before it finally became visible in our sight. Yes, it was a brand new van? Being the first two persons in line, we had the privilege to choose a better seat. So, we did. Ahhhh, the cool air-conditioning system. I wanted to sleep but I have to keep company.

So, after the air-conditioned brand new van, I had to alight and look for my next ride. It took me around ten to fifteen minutes before I saw the Montalban jeep that would bring me to the tricycle station in San Mateo, where I lived. Good thing about this ride? It was fast. Montalban jeeps here are known for that reputation. They would make a hour drive into a thirty minute one or even less. That is why, they encountered many road accidents also. Sometimes, they are not careful enough. Another thing I do not like about the drivers of Montalban jeeps, they charge higher than the usual fare. But you know, people are tired to complain and just wanted to go home the earliest time possible since it is already late at night.

Anyways, I came to my last stop. I had to ride the tricycle going to my home. My husband could not fetch me anymore because our son was already sleeping. We do not have any maid to look after him. I always pray whenever I am already at the tricycle ride. There are so many things running on my mind thus, I really have to pray for my safety.

Gladly, I arrived home safe. Thank God. Now, I am writing this. Oh, it has been a tiring day? Not really…

Movie seats

25 Mar

theaterYou love going to theaters and one of the contributing factors beside that the film that you are going to watch stars your favorite actor are those movie seats, right? How comfortable and relaxing very fit for that movie date. So why not bring it home? Yes, you could have your own home theatre seating. That would be easy. You do not have to have your own movie theater but you could actually put it at your living room. That is one of my projects for this year. Movie tickets are getting more expensive. Besides, I am a real homebody. I love staying at home whenever I do not have to go out of the house and go to the office to work.
