Thank you to Reyna Elena for the yellow ribbon for Tita Cory.
She is the first woman president of the Philippines, Ms. Corazon C. Aquino.
Cory is really a brave woman. Starting from being the wife of a political detainee, imprisoned and exiled, I do not know how she was able to cope with it. Considering that she came from a wealthy family, she had to undergo such hardships in life.
Then, her husband died… Ninoy died as a hero but who would want that prestige if the man you love is already dead? However, Cory remained strong. She took it as an inspiration. She drew more courage from Ninoy and wanted to continue what her husband was fighting for.
Cory became the first woman president of the Philippines. I was astill young when all of these happened. All I know was that she brought change to the country. Ninoy was alive in her. She did not only bring back democracy but she also balanced it by bringing every Filipino closer to the Lord.
Cory’s being religious is what I admire about her the most. She is very prayerful. Moreover, I did not hear any bad thing came from her mouth. She only spoke of the truth and of the goodness of everyone.
Now, Cory is suffering from colon cancer. We heard in the news that she is in pain. However, we never saw her complained about it when she was still visible. She was always as sunny as her yellow dress.
On my way to the office yesterday which happened to be along the neighborhood of Tita Cory at Time’s street, I saw so many yellow ribbons. That signified every Filipino’s sincere concern for the President.
As a blogger, here is my little way of praying for Tita Cory’s well being. I pray that she would not experience pain. She is sick but please, spare her from pain. Actually, that is my prayer for every sick person. Let God’s healing hands touch her.
Thanks again to Reyna Elena for starting this….
