What lies ahead for Entrecard and its users?

July 17th, 2009 Anna

Entrecard has been acquired by Ziprunner, inc. I am sure that all Entrecard users had received the e-mail. Moreover, many have checked out Graham’s new blog. I did! Have we been supportive to Entrecard? Have we been supportive to Graham? One thing sure, everyone who joined Entrecard benefited from it in one way or another.

Entrecard is free. That is why many people in the blogosphere joined in. In its attempt to become commercialized by accepting paid ads, it created some commotion among its members. We do not like to pay for something that was initially given to us for free. In a way, somehow, we felt deceived. It was like being addicted into something then it would be taken away if you could not afford the price. From then on, EC gathered so many criticisms from the others. But, really now? Other great minds tried to copy EC but from the beginning, they made it clear that there would be a fee. Graham sort of gave in to the wishes of the many. He bended. Okay, members now have the option to accept paid EC advertisers or not at no cost at all. No punishments whatsoever. It is still a free ride for all.

I am an Entrecard user. I use Entrecard to gain traffic in a very easy way. Drop and go at some blogs without leaving any comments at all. I could visualize that sooner or later, I have to go back joining memes and leaving comments to let my blogger friends know that I was there. I guess I should start now. Meantime, I would continue use Entrecard… until further notice.
