I imagined myself before to wear medical scrubs. I did actually as I studied Physical Therapy. Somehow, I experienced wearing medical scrubs during my internship. Though, Physical Therapists just wear the white blazer like doctors.

It is school time once again. There are College students who are on the AB subjects, seem undecided on what course to really take? I was decisive then. I just cannot say right now that I was sure of it or if it was the right decision.

I still want to wear those medical scrubs.

Sometimes, it is best to listen to your oldies. Well, I thought of that because I remember that my late Dad told me before to consider teaching degrees. There are three teachers in his family. Yes, his three sisters are all teachers! My favorite Aunt is actually a music teacher or music master. I learned that during her recent birthday celebration. I also learned from that party that her eldest granddaughter looked at teaching degrees and decided to finally shift to SPED- teaching special education to gifted children. I, myself wanted to teach before. It is not too late to pursue a noble profession. That gets me thinking.

Here in our country, many high school graduates have this mindset of having jobs in healthcare in the future. That is the reason why nursing , physical therapy, medical technology and other allied medical courses are in demand. Besides IT and computer courses, taking up the most popular course which is nursing is the usual scenario during opening of classes in College freshman year. Would you believe that even those people who have already graduated from non-allied medical courses do take up nursing as their second degree. My friend who works at a hospital told me that they have interns who are more than 40 years old. Now, that gave me some hope. Yes, I want to pursue a medical profession too and I am already turning 38.

There is paranoia in the office again. I completely understand the company’s move to reorganize. After all, that is what business is all about. There should be business review to know what is going on in the market and to innovate. Honestly speaking, I am also afraid of what will happen in the future. Well, no one knows what will happen. There are other people who do their best but it seems that their best is not enough. I do not want to brag about anything but I can say that I am a good employee if not one of the best. I always believe that I owe it to the company I am working for. However, if ever I will be one of those, I should accept it with all my heart. It will be painful but I have to move on. I do not know how but I know that the One Up There will not forsake me. Yes, I will be like a bird. I will not get hungry. My loved ones will not get hungry too.

I was browsing through the most popular social network and saw that our high school batch will be having its reunion after twenty years! That quite struck me and let me stop and think. What will I do there? I dread to compare resumes with my previous batch mates. To think that I was one of the top students before, I do not really think that I am more successful than them. As a matter of fact, those who seemed to be naughty students are even doing great in their careers right now as I have seen in their profiles.

Anyways, what is the purpose of a reunion? I think, for us to get in touch again and have fun reminiscing high school memories even for just one night. Who knows? I could even find old friends and rekindle or resurrect dead connections. Now, that should be one thing I should look forward to!

I would like to try another path, meaning quitting my the job that feeds my family for eight years now! It would be a very big decision on my part. However, my husband does not agree with that. Yes, he wants me to just stay with my present employer. The company I am working for is one of the top corporations in the country and I am proud to say, number one in its field. It is a good employer too. Just like tomorrow, we will be receiving our Christmas package. There is more to that! We have social security disability benefits, insurance and the expanded unlimited medical benefit that only a few companies offer. That is what my husband always reminds me about. Well, yes, that could be a benefit that nobody would like to avail but is very important.

So, I am staying. I must continue and maybe just find another way for what I have in mind. My friend is right. I must do something about it. I must start now. Hey, it has been twelve years…
