Oh, I woke up and I thought that it is already Monday! But, no! It is still Sunday. Well, I thank God that I am able to wake up.

I am still affected by what happened to me this weekend. Well someone bailed out on me and I was disappointed. You know, breaking deals and not being able to do what you have promised. Well, we did not really have a written contract.

You might be wondering what is it I am talking about, right? Well, family matters. As they say, the worse business partner is someone you have blood relations with. That person did not actually betray me. She just could not keep his share of responsibilities anymore. It was hard for me because I was not prepared and I was caught by surprise. Now, I have to do everything alone.

I am glad that we were able to bond with our relatives last Holiday season. One of my favorite cousins together with her husband and cute and healthy kids were in town. That was their very first time here in the Philippines as a family after ten years. They live in the United States. We talked about a lot of things. Mainly, we exchanged Mom’s notes as to our kids’ milk, vitamins, education and the joys and pains of motherhood.

I received a text message from my mother. She was asking for extra cash for my youngest brother’s entrance examination fee to a certain university. According to her, my brother’s teacher already advised them to go on with the application before they will be beaten by the deadline. Oh, my brother who I took care of when he was still a toddler is already going to college next year! The last time I spoke with him, I asked him about his interests. You know, he must take a course that he really likes and not just to have a college degree. If I have the money I would send him to Jacksonville Cosmetology School abroad. My brother is surrounded by the female community and his godmother is a cosmetologist. We also plan to put up a business of our own someday and a salon would be nice. There would definitely be customers thus return of investment is a sure thing.

Today is Father’s day! I greeted all fathers in the world a happy father’s day. I tried to make it a special one for my husband too. No surprise gift but I already agreed on the hard disk drive that he has been wishing to buy. Anyways, it will benefit everyone. He will use it to install games for Wii. Right now, he is just using a 4MB USB drive. Anyways, he found a good deal at sulit.com.

We had good lunch. We did not go out. We decided to just cook buttered shrimps with garlic. We had fresh ripe mangoes for dessert. In the evening, we had some visitors and had ice cream, pancit and lumpiang shanghai. It was a simple celebration but you know, quality time spent with the whole family. Our son made him a card though it was not really a polished one.

I also remembered my Dad today. My memories of him. I almost cried. My friend encouraged me to post some of my fondest memories of my Dad. Actually, I only have few memories of my Dad. That is why, I am really wishing sometimes that he is still alive. It is different when you have your parents around. Anyways, I do dream of him from time to time. I know that he is watching over us from above. For that, thank you, Dad.

Once again, Happy Father’s Day to all Dads especially to my husband who is really a good father to our only son. Do not tire, Hon. We love you.

One of the things that I was able to accomplish this summer was my visit to my youngest sister. I have not seen her for a very long time and I promised her a visit this summer. I am glad to have fulfilled that promise. When she fetched us at the nearby mall, I did not recognize her at first because her face changed. She was more beautiful. She has very nice face as if she underwent some adult acne treatments. No, she did not have acne but that was what I thought upon seeing her. Anyways, she said that she made sure to wash her face with whitening soap.

Here is my sister! Beautiful, isn’t she? Now, I realized maybe she is more glowing these days because she and her family now have their own home. No in-laws but just them. Do you also believe that it has something to do with that?

I saw my two nieces yesterday and they are big already. They are growing up to be fine young women. They are quite thin though. I talked to my sister and I congratulated her for being able to bring up such beautiful kids. The eldest is graduating from elementary this April. She has a teenage daughter already! I asked her where will she send Che for high school. My sister said that her mother in law would like to help them send Che to a private school. My sister is having second thoughts though. Well, she has four kids and she wants to be fair to all of them. Her eldest son is in public school. She said that if one will go to a private school and the rest will not, it will not be fair. It really broke my heart. Our parents sent us to a private school. Now, I appreciate it more. How I wish to tell my sister that I would like to help her kids with their education. However, I am not that rich yet like I could buy gold bars anytime. I also have a son and he is already studying. As they say, charity starts at home. But, really, if ever I will have extra money, I will really try to help them.

I really do not feel well today. I have coughs and colds. Maybe it is because of the tiring days. You know, the non-stop cleaning of the house and washing of clothes. I really feel exhausted. Then, there is also some pressure at work. I came to a decision though. It is not popular for everyone but most people agreed with it. The question is that, did I agree with it? Ironic, huh! Someone close to me somehow hurt me with her opinion but I respect it and I understand her.

What I really want? I want to quit my job and stay home. But, I could not afford to. There are people who are even richer or have more money than I do who are saying that they need a job, what more the poor me… But, how important is material possession?

The recent typhoon really has a big effect on me. I just do not have someone to talk to about it. All the people around me have their own problems. I know that I could depend on them but I do not want to bother them. So, whoever is reading this, thank you that I could share this with you.

I want to stay home and be with my family. We could live simply. We could still eat three times a day, I guess… What will I lose? No more new clothes and shoes? No more trip to the malls? Maybe no more subscriptions to any form of media? What about my child’s future? What future? We could not really predict the future or even create it because God has prepared it already for us.

My husband could not understand me whenever I tell him that I want to quit my job. The first step supposedly was to transfer to another department where it is less stressful. He contradicted and advised me to stay put where I am because it is more stable there… He might be right. I prayed for my decision with regards to my job and I received some signs… and moreover, the biggest sign is in front of me, my husband. How I could live without his support? Maybe I will just try to talk my plans unto him and let him understand me slowly and eventually he will agree with me…

What do I feel now? What will be my next move? My friends said that maybe we could just plan to leave our present posts by next year or maybe transfer to another company…

What do I really want to do? STAY HOME and BE WITH MY FAMILY.
