Meeting with friends always turns out to be a good time. You eat. You talk. You play. Sometimes, you can also hurt most especially if you do not watch what you say. There are actually some reunion etiquette already but I wonder if it is even being discussed in personality workshops or trainings. What are those things? would you believe that weight, career, wealth, civil status among others should not be tackled in a conversation? And, before I forget, salary should not be asked also. That is a big N-O!

So, how was our gathering? It was generally fine though at the start, we deviated from the reunion etiquette. Come to think of it, what should we discuss then, huh! Anyways, so we discussed about career and business. My friend who left for China yesterday asked me if I will not allow my husband to go abroad again. I said, no, because no one will look after our child. He somehow disagreed and maybe he was thinking how we were making both ends meet. He was almost to ask me if I might be hiding a bullion or anything precious that we are being able to survive life.

I cannot help but smile. My co-passengers might be wondering why? As I travel to and from home, that is the time when I reminisce about things that happened in the past, happening in the present and what might be in the future.

Today is a good and bad day, all at once. My friend told me that she is planning to leave our group. She said that she has personal reasons. She asked us if we think she will be making the wrong decision. Since she did not want to tell us the reason, how can we at least give our opinion if indeed, she will be making the right or wrong decision?

On the lighter side, two of my supervisors came to me. They asked for some ideas on how to create a blog and what could be their topics? Hey, am I a blog guru now? Am I proud of myself, huh?! Anyways, it is mandated by the organization that at least our superior be in touch or aware with what is the in thing in the world wide web today. That includes social networks like Facebook and Friendster and of course, blogging! Way to go!

When one of my friends was about to get married, she was so enthusiastic. Yes, that’s how I described her. She was so excited! To her excitement, she forgot the wedding favors. Ha,ha,ha! I really could not help but laughed at her that time. She asked us to search for unique personalized wedding favors with only a little time left before her wedding day! Imagine that! Where would we get those? She did not want it to be the usual giveaways guests usually receive. Well, good thing we found The Knot Wedding Shop online. There are lts of unique choices there! We actually had a hard time choosing because we wanted to get everything!

Home sweet home. It was a fun night though. Being lost at the road is sometimes exciting and full of thrill. You would meet strangers and who knows, if you are lucky, you could find a friend.

We went to the birthday party of our dear friend. We did not have to commute because one of our office mates has a car. I was the only one who supposed to know the directions since I had been to our friend’s place already. As a matter of fact, just last Friday. Anyways, my policy has always been to follow the jeepney route or to literally to follow the passenger’s jeepney that would pass by the area. As we call it, the house we were going to is “along the way”. However, since we were riding a private car, we could take shortcuts. I stuck to my policy for us to follow the jeep. It turned out that we were following the wrong jeep. It was going to a different place. That was when the excitement begun. We got lost!

First person we asked, supposed to have given us the right direction. He said that we should just take the u- turn slot then we were off to the right path. However, we noticed that we were getting farther. We were supposed to go to Bacood, Sta. Mesa yet we were about to see Shaw Boulevard!

Next stop- Shell gasoline station. There was a Chinese or Japanese looking man who was outside his car. He was very nice eventhough it was hard for him to speak Tagalog. He said Bacoor. I corrected him, Bacood. Oh, my friends were laughing because they said that I was frightening the guy. Anyways… we were directed properly so we already saw a Bacood sign. What street? Biliran? Libiran? Oh, I had to check on my cellphone the right name…Ah, Lubiran!

We passed by a jeep which has the sign Bacood sta. Mesa. We were sure that they could tell us the right way. They did. We passed by a handsome young looking man and eventhough we were already at the right street, our gay friend stopped and asked the man for directions! Big laughters filled the car! Oh, if only I could translate it in English…Ang saya-saya kahit nawala na kami.

Anyways, we reached our destination. More fun as it was a birthday party. Lots of foods and drinks! M ost of all, familiar faces. The important faces of friendship. Bonding time of no non-sense conversations, enjoying each other’s company. The hosts were very good. Food and more food!

They were teasing me that I could not be a leader when it comes to travel. I told them, Hey I am just a commuter. I just ride the public transportation and reach my right destination.

The fun had to end and we had to bid goodbye. Til next time!

What a way to celebrate her birthday! My dearest friend, Choie celebrated her birthday at the beach! She just came back from that three day vacation cum birthday celebration. She went with her dearest cousin, Earl. Oh, how I envy them as she showed us some of their photos by the white sand beach and blue sea! The place that they stayed in, according to them is the best! They did not waste their time looking for extended stay hotels because what they found was a real treasure. Actually, if not for the hassle of rebooking their flight, they might really just stay there even for a month! But then, they have to go back to work! My friend said that she is just closing her eyes from time to time reminiscing all the good times they had there.

My friend from Canada came here for a vacation. She invited us to her place so that we could catch up to each other’ s life. She showed us some pictures and told us some great stories about it. She said that her Vegas vacations by the invitation of her Uncle were among the best that she had so far. Oh, this friend of mine really loves to travel. She saves for it even when we were still in College. Expect her to be in another town or country during semester breaks. She is a real jet- setter. I hope we could travel together real soon. I miss her a lot.

I am not really good in keeping in touch with friends. Sometimes, I am asking myself, do I have any friend left at all? With the advent of modernized communication like friendster, facebook and other forms like e-mail, chat, YM, IM, SMS, MMS and blogging, I must admit, I have not been utilizing much of those in communicating with my friends.

Today, I tried to check my friendster account and instead of accepting the friend requests, I accidentally cancelled them all! Oh, forgive me. Please do not be mad. I do not even know now how to invite them or search/view my friends’ accounts. Facebook is the in thing nowadays but I have not visited that site even once. There is also myspace, right?

I have to be connected with my friends again. I have to keep them. I think giving them an hour or two in a week would be enough, right? For my first step, I send them e-mails today. I am talking about my friends who are already abroad. They are really my best buddies. I really miss them.

My friends here in the Philippines, I only have a few. Yes, I must start keeping in touch with them also. Good thing some of them are my co- workers.

If only they will find time to read this blog also… Ah, right, I will just make a widget here dedicated to them. I think that will be a great idea. In that way, I will always remember them.
