A Commuter's Life

We will go to the mall today. We plan to watch a movie in 3D! Then I would like to visit the house and home section to look for a contemporary furniture for our living room. The sofa there should be replaced already. It has been with us for more than eight years. It is big for the area also thus we need a smaller one.

At first, I really do not understand the idea of a water softener. I am not familiar with it. All I know is about fabric softeners. Yes, I am a Mom and I wash lots of clothes during my rest days! After some research, I found out that water softeners are good. It is environment friendly and most of all, it will help cut water consumption. Here in our country, there is the impending water shortage. If you have a water system which includes water softener, it would mean using less water in washing clothes and even those that you use when you take a bath. I have to talk my husband into it so that he would agree on this. Spare a few cash for a longer term results that will lead to savings in water bills and even help in water conservation.

I hope that the money that I am expecting will be in my bank account already by Wednesday. I am planning to buy an allergy bedding and a new bed too. My son and I have been sleeping at the living room again. I think that the floor is cold and colder these days. However, my son feels suffocated in the bedroom thus I just have to buy a bed. Why allergy bedding? As I have written already, my son has asthma. Not so much these days but still, I have to prevent it from coming back because my kid really suffers from it.

We do not hire a handyman or bring our appliances to a repair shop when needed repair or cleaning. We have our own personnel to do it. My husband! Ha,ha,ha! Pretty practical, right? Yeah, he is pretty! Anyways, I do watch all those times that he does some repair or cleaning. Last week, he had our air-conditioning unit checked. I think it needs a new filter. Well, the canvassing of materials needed for repair is on me. I worked as a purchasing officer before in a construction company. I was introduced to all sorts of construction materials, household items and repair items. As for filters, there are different kinds too like furnace filters, AC filters( which I need), and other kinds of air filters. I already suggested a brand to my husband but he said that he would also try to search for more options. Okay, then!

This is only my fourth night here inside our bedroom. We have not been sleeping here since September 25. You want to know the reason why? Look at the picture! That is what’s left for our bed. It was pretty disappointing and stressful. I am thinking of rewarding myself a cradlesoft mattress. Maybe, I will feel better.

I would like to thank the Almighty though.There has been quiet skies lately. The latest typhoon to hit our country became shy.

The three day rest days ended yesterday. Today would be my first day for the week work. I got plenty of rest. I slept a lot. It is just that, I think it is not enough. You know, having a family around to take care of. That is the challenge of parenthood and wifehood, I guess.

Last night was our fist night here in our bedroom Since September 26. Wow, it has been almost a month, huh! Well, this bedroom smelled rotten wet wood until my husband removed the tokador (read: dresser). It has been with us for more than seven years. It was a gift from my husband. Well, we let go of so many things because of the typhoon Ondoy cum flash flood cum man made disaster. Well, at least the room is more spacious now. That dresser was quite bulky. I remembered my husband’s reason for buying a big dresser. He said that it will just be okay once we have a big house already…

I will have more typhoon stories when I am already in the mood for writing. Should I say that I have note recovered from the loss? I guess. I always say that I will not buy new things anymore because those might just be washed away or taken away by the flood. Really now!

I am sure today will be a long day. Being away from work for three days means e-mails to clean up and so many follow ups for unresolved concerns. Sometimes, I am thinking to call in sick whenever I feel that I do not like to go to office yet. If only I could afford to do that. But, I have to get up and prepare for work. I have mouths to feed, you know.

I hope that it will be a good day, though. As it is, I have some worries inside my head. Son is sick with coughs and colds causing him to have fever. But I know that all would be fine. God will make me pass all this.

Meantime, I will go back to sleep. I miss this bed, though without the mattress. We threw it away because it was soaked in mud. I might buy the replacement by November 10. That long, huh! Well, thank you to the comforter that serves as a substitute so that our backs would not directly lay on the hard plywood.

I need a garage flooring material that is easy to install and easy to clean. Yes, I do not like to exert much effort in cleaning anymore. I have been cleaning all my life for the past nine days! Imagine that! Anyways, I found some nice garage flooring in the internet and come to think of it, there are pretty flooring materials that are being used for the garage. I could even use them in the living room!

I am convinced! I will now look for mobile homes! I just watched Grey’s Anatomy where Izzie and Alex are now living in a trailer! Oh, they should have purchased a mobile home instead and park it there at the vast land of Derek!

Seriously, I find comfort in those mobile homes. I just thought that then I do not have to buy a car, right? My house and I will be able to travel together.

My husband was kidding around and making some slogans about life. He said , so that life would be brighter, we need new lighting bulbs. He really made me laugh. Well, it is quite dim in our living room. We really need to buy new light bulbs. There are actually around 5 slots that need to be filled in. It was his brother who took charge of the lighting. I do not know why he wanted so many lights. Well, maybe to make life brighter!
