A beautiful Sunday morning? Coming from a petty fight last night which we have been having lately, I really do not know. Well, we are on our twelfth year of marriage though, only on the eight year of togetherness. The seven year itch? I really do not know. The past week, I tried to be nice as I thought of good things and sulking into negativity will do us nothing. Plus, there is a fear at the back of my mind, what if I lose him? Really, marriage is not an easy thing…

Just this morning, after I brushed my teeth, as I came from our bathroom, and I was about to enter the living room from the kitchen, he reminded me not in a very nice way to remove my slippers. Well, yeah, he cleans the floors… Anyways, that sort of pissed me off. No good morning greeting and all.

He opened the TV for the Sunday TV mass and heated a cup of coffee at the microwave. I am sure, he is waiting for me to move and maybe make some breakfast. I am not really in the mood. I want to write and finish my assignments. After that, maybe I will move.

I am trying to condition myself right now. You know, just be a nice person without thinking or expecting anything in return. I will just be the same me, the martyr, the good wife.

Yes, I got a date last night! I asked my husband to fetch me since malls will close at 10 PM. I was trying to find a brown pair of shoes to match my brown bag. As usual, I was able to find many nice ones but too bad, did not fit my feet. Funny but those in display are okay but when the sales men presented me with the new stock, it will not fit anymore. Maybe because shoes in display are sort of expanded already because of the too many feet that tried to fit in already. Anyways, we just decided to stop looking for my brown shoes. I told my husband to just repair what I have. Well, why do I need brown shoes? As I have said, for my brown bag and my brown blouse. Yes, I also bought a new blouse and it is brown. Husband said that brown does not match black thus, I need to buy brown shoes.

Too much of my brown obsession already. It felt good being with my husband again…alone. Well, you know, commuting with someone. The one hour drive was more meaningful. It turned out to be a quality time spent together. Just like before when we were still sweethearts. I think we need to be together more. It was sort of like a date also since we dine out at our favorite restaurant. We ate ice cream from Stick House for dessert.

No brown shoes for me but I found more than that last night!

Speaking of marriage, it would be our tenth wedding anniversary a couple of months from now. I am so excited. I am thinking of bringing my husband to an ocean view restaurant where we could enjoy a romantic ambiance. We have been going out lately, meaning date! Yes, I am glad that we are almost back the way we were before. Well, meaning , we have time for ourselves already. Thanks to his sister who takes care of our child whenever we are on our date.

Going back to that surprise I am planning for my hubby, I want it to be in an ocean view restaurant. Not really by the beach and open air. I would like a place where we could enjoy good food and good music. My husband likes to watch bands. For the food, I would like something new. Maybe we could go for an Italian menu.

Well, it is still a few months from now. I could still plan. I am excited!

There are some fights that we get into in our daily lives. Fight with the traffic, fight with a co-employee, fight with a boss, which is not really good… and of course, fights with our loved ones. It is alright if we were caught on those petty fights. Somehow, it adds color to life. But, sometimes, fights get ugly. Now, that is the time that we hoped that everything is just pale or just the way it is. We just like life to be boring, so what. At least, all is peaceful.

I had a fight with my husband a few days ago. I slept it out. We did not talk for some hours after all the shouting, the crying and the hurting. We stayed calm afterwards. Finally, when evening came, I sort of gave in and broke the silence. It has always been like that. Why always like that? Anyways, that fight caused his BP to rise, 150/100, or maybe it was that high already even before the fight that was why his patience was short and could not tolerate me anymore. Yeah, he has always been patient to me and our kid. Well, he does not speak to me about things that I would like to hear. There are times that I do not know what is going inside my mind. Ah, marriage… I miss the old “him” though. The one who was crazy about me. Anyways, maybe, I lost the old me, too.
